Office 2007-The Windows Installer Service Cannot Update One or More Protected Windows Files

Installing Office 2007 on Windows XP received the following message ” The Windows Installer Service Cannot Update One or More Protected Windows Files”, then the installation failed.

the following steps will resolved this solution:

  1. on windows XP installer CD, find FP40EXT.CAB in i386 folder
  2. extract the file and copy fp4Autl.dll on  C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\40\bin
  3. repeat the Office 2007 Installation

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, like you
wrote the book in it or something. I think that you
can do with a few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that,
this is great blog. An excellent read. I will definitely be back.

Hi there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers?
My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing
months of hard work due to no data backup. Do you have any
    methods to stop hackers?
