Canon MP180 Service Required 5800


For couple of week I could not use my Printer Canon MP 180, it is said Service Required 5800. The Canon Support told me that the link absorter need to be replaced with the new one with cost me almost Rp. 100.000 for service fee. However, i am able to find solution for this problem from the following site Click here. here’s the step by step solution according to the site

– Power off printer
– Hold down STOP/RESET button then Press and Hold down Power button
– Keep Power button down and Release STOP/RESET button
– Push STOP/RESET button twice
– let go of power button

Wait 20-30 seconds – my display shows “canon Idle”

– Push STOP/RESET button four times
– Push Power button twice
– Power off
– Next time the printer is started the waste count will have been reset

the solution did worked on my printer and i am able to use it again !

    Is this method can also be used in the thermal printer? Because I just bought a manifold thermal printer and I’m still not too aware of the manner of operation, in a language guide book I get a language I do not understand

      i don’t think this is work for thermal pinter, try to find the guide from their product site instead
