There are differences teaching ICT to students between local and foreign teachers….
- Â local teachers ( the one that i live here ) teach with step by step instruction where students treat as a bucket for transfering knowledge. students have to wait for teacher explaining the content.
- foreign teachers teach with inquiers method where students given a task / project so they can find themselves learning new things. students does not have to wait for teacher explaining the content.
Sometimes, i stand in the middle of both 🙂 But instead of teaching my students with step by step instruction , i prefer give them a project with achievable result so they can find themselves learning new things over and over again. That is the most valuable things that you can give to them
How to teach programming to kids
if you’re looking a a way to teach programming to our kids, you may use MSW LOGO programming from http://www.softronix.com/. It has a built in LOGO programming language, some tutorials and interesting samples, and most of all it’s a freeware. i teach this to my kids for teaching controll.
Complete Module
We heard many times about Module. when we’re following some training, they usually give us a thing called “Module” :), but many of us aware not about how to build a complete module. Say as a teacher/trainer, you’re given a task to create a Module, what items you should create for this ?
here are the complete module structure following the AQTF/RTO standards:
- Student Guide: a place where you can put theory and concepts
- Student Activity: a place where you can put theory on Student Guide to practice and questions
- Slide Presentation: a place where you can put your overall topics in a slide presentation
- Facilitator Guide: exactly the same with Student Activity plus anwered key of the practice and questions within.
- sesssion / lesson plan: a place where you can put your plan detail of teaching or delivering the subject.Â
